I took a direct hit on the factory skid plate at about 90 kph this week on an unmarked dip. It damaged the plastic covers but the plate did its job and I got away without any damage to the turbo, header or oil pan. Good stuff AVO.

Looks like Fensport in the UK continues to push things along as well.

Everything seems to be running smoothly with lower boost and 12.5 compression. I am not engine savy but I know enough to that with out e85 or 93 octane good 93 octane we are pretty much limited at the amount of boost we run.

My question is if one plans on getting the avo stage 2 turbo kit and has access to E 85 and 93 to 94 still I would assume the torque still isn't going to be what we like. But with that set up we are looking at plenty of power for most.

I guess my question is if I got a new set of forged pistons and rods
And lowered the compression to 8:5 or. 9:1 (that was I ran in my 93
Cobra 455 rwhp 458 rwtq with vortech waster colled kit 11psi).

Obviously I know in cubic inches aspect of things you can't compare the 2 but if if I where to get a set of lower compression internals so I could up the boost to get the torque where it should be could i still run the avo stage 2 kit.

Maybe avo turbo world could answer this
I still want a small turbo for spoiling time to be as quick as possible as I don't want a dyno queen but I think to say over 275-325 rwtq in this car on the street would be amazing with the horsepower obvsiouly in same range.

Or just say the heck with it not mess with taking engine apart run the e85 and stage 2 kit.

Just a thought on the best method on getting better torque out of the gate.

And comments, slaps in face, advice from someone who knows a lot more than me greatly appreciated

Thanks
Dan

Why? E85 is equivalent to 105 octane so if you have access to it you will put down better numbers than this for sure!

Also worth checking out is the FA20Club.com kit...really a nice setup with great results. I'm not knocking AVO one bit..some people just prefer to have options

Well to be fair. Drift office estimates 320 whp with 94 and supporting mods. Not sure what psi though

Bear in mind that may be 102 RON, not AKI. So perhaps equiv. to ~96 AKI.

In Europe 102 octane (RON) is normal fuel that you can buy at the gas station. I would guess that it is equivalent 94 fuel in the US.

E85 is unicorn gas around here. No stations anywhere plus I'm over all these kits going corn since it isn't universal at all.

I took a close loom at the fa20 kit as it will fit the full blown rad but I'm worried about heat soak. Layout of fa20 is a lot like full blowns and fb has massive heating issues. AVO are the only guys who kept the turbo out of the engine bay.

Turbo won't be bought until I feel the engine is reliable enough anyways. I don't want to jump the guy on turboing haha

I understand your reasoning and I too was a little concerned. I actually just got home for going in a ride in a FA20Club turbo car and I have to say I'm beyond impressed! 12k miles on the kit already and no issues at all. This car is a beast and is running in hot south Florida summer heat and has no oil cooler either. I'm impressed by the power AND reliability of this kit. There are issues with AVO's turbo placement too but this car wasn't designed to have a turbo kit from the factory so there is no such thing as perfect placement on this car.

I'm sure with either kit you will be more than happy. Good luck man!

Im currently having my avo "stage2" tuned right now (2 weeks in so far), and will be doing a dual tune. Going with 91 tune and a E-85 tune. So hope to have some dyno results soon to post. My tuner has had the car for 2 weeks, and hopes to have it done in the next few days, so fingers crossed!

Got to say, even with the base map and 5psi of boost on the initial install and drive up to my tuner, this thing is awesome. What a HUGE difference FI makes for this car.
