Transmission issues

Hey guys I had a quick question. So my friend just got a 2013 brz with 20000 miles on it (5000 more then mine) and his shiftier feels a lot crisper then mine. I do track mu car a lot and I have changed out the stock transmission fluid through the dealer but should I worry about this. I'm just worried that because I track the car so much I've damaged the synchros or something. It shifts fine and I've never really grinded the gears. Its really just easier to get into gear really and doesn't feel as notchy. I also heal toe when I'm on track if that's any consolation.

What does the differential have to do with transmission shifting feel?

You had the dealer change your tranny fulid? Well, that may be the issue right there.
Does your buddy have the trd quick shifter and better fulid? Like redline or motul? If so there's your answer.

No his car is completely stock and never been touched. I was thinking about having them put the motul fluid in. Will that void the warranty through if i dont use their fluid? I guess maybe they just put in some bad fluid

Voild the warranty? Oh hell no. As long as you put in the factory recommended spec of oil your good. Any and I mean any brand of oil as long as it meets the factory specs you can put in. If they give you any lip, get the fuck far far away from that dealer with one finger wave goodbye.

My guess is that they never changed out your tranny fluid.

FYI there was a class action lawsuit which gives us the consumer the right to use any fluid we want with out voiding warranty. That was back in the '70s if I recall. Some one might chime in on that.

Oddly, was going to refer to @Aztec's car anonymously but then I saw his post.

I think the behavior of these transmissions vary greatly from one unit to the next. IIRC, we have similar build dates but his is MUCH less picky than mine. Both of our transmissions are in great shape but his syncros grab harder with significantly less force applied.

It might be a break-in thing as well. I'm typically quite gentle with mine. It only humbles me when I try to show off.
