Not my car. My parents accord. Followed to close to a semi. Launched a rock and it cracked from passenger side to basically all the way in front of the driver.

Check with your (their) insurance company. Depending on how old the car is will dictate if the replacement is OEM or generic glass.

Some glass shops give a discount to certain insurance company customers -- which helps a bit with net cost... but won't reduce whatever co-pay is part of the policy.

Sometimes... disreputable shops will claim "We'll pay your deductible..." which just means, they will over-bill the insurance a bit and not collect the deductible from you. Needless to say, your insurance company knows who most of these shops are... and will not recommend them to you.

I just had my front replace due to big crack. I carry a high deductible, so I just shopped around and found a decent generic replacement for about $425 (installed).
