Ffs! No burnout mode for Aussie Mustang

The Mustang has no appeal for me but I appreciate the fact that it exists.
This just makes me weep.

F**king nanny state.

As Jeremy clarkson said "The Australians are too drunk."

Seriously though, that's pretty shitty.

Eh, could be worse. Could have traction control that couldn't be turned off.

Ha Ha! The whole click bait blog thing doesn't just apply to the 86.
Will be interested to know if it actually happens.

Admittedly, just from a I'm not quite sure what point of view, I'm more annoyed that the new Focus RS won't go drifting in Aus.

i thought any rwd car could do this? just dump the clutch, keep it floored, and left foot brake to hold the car in place.

Unless you are legitimately drag racing, there's really very little reason to be doing any burnouts other than to look "cool" in my opinion.

as long as the hardware between the cars is the same, an aftermarket tune would fix this and the mustang burnout issue no problem.

its pretty common with the bmw, porsche, gtr crowds to update to latest transmission software year by year. there are guys with 2009 GTRs running the latest nismo gtr transmission software, and US e46 m3 owners with euro CSL software.

It's a line lock for the front wheels. Makes it very easy to do a burnout without moving.

Depends. You're either cooking the back brakes, the ABS freaks out, or the computer cuts throttle because it thinks you're trying to stop. Line lock is the proper way to do it and it's much safer as well.

Dunno how it's enabled on the Mustang, but it could be missing a switch of some kind. I'm confident they're using the ABS system to do the line lock function so hardware should be the same.

Agreed. Except for a rare handful of circumstances, it is a childish toy for overgrown boys. I see nothing wrong with helping them grow up by deleting the feature. If they really want a line-lock so badly, they can go plumb one in like a real drag racer.
