Coilovers without lowering at all
Hey guys,
So the first mood I usually do to a car is the suspension, but I'm now driving for almost 2 years with the stock suspension in my GT86. There are two reasons for this: first I really like the tailhappy behavior of the car and second I'm already hitting the floor in parking garages with the front due to the installed OEM aero kit. So are there any suggestions on which coilovers to get without lowering the car at all?

Hi there! I am in exactly the same situation as you: 2 years on the stock suspension, loving the ground clearance (gotta clear that Karussell am I right
) and tail happiness.I've been looking around and the Öhlins package seems to be the best suited all around. I've read you can get stock height from some sources, others say the smallest drop is 5mm. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54235 http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48679

Pay REALLY close attention to the spring rates included with any coilover kit if you like the current handling balance.
What are you looking to get out of coilovers if you are happy with the stock balance and don't want to lower the car? Seems like a lot of money to not make changes.

if you like the current oem setup, what's the purpose of getting adjustable coilovers then? i think a better choice would be to get upgraded springs/shocks combo like RCE springs with a set of Bilsteins.

If I were stuck in a situation where I couldn't lower AT ALL...then I would look at Ohlins coilovers. Or I would do Bilstein shocks, some swaybars and bushings.
