Winjet headlights DRL issue
Hey guys,
So I just put in my new Winjet Headlights but the DRLs aren't working. Now, I have previously had HIDs installed in the stock headlamps and wanted to use them for the new Winjet headlights. The HIDs were installed by a friend of a friend so I'm not exactly sure if he did anything with the wiring. When I look at the way the wiring is set up in the original headlamps, there seems to be two of those large black plugs (one to the low beams and one to the DRLs). However, the winjets only have one connector. Is it possible that the wiring was changed by the previous guy who installed my HIDs or am I missing an extra connector for my Winjets? Also are there special types of HIDs I need to get for my Winjets? The slot to put in the low beams in the Winjets doesn't seem to be the same as with the original headlamps. It's not a simple twist and remove type of thing. Any help appreciated |

IIRC, you have to remove the last part of the harness and plug the winjets into the what's left of the harness. If I'm right, there should be another plug that leads to the two plugs you currently see. Try plugging the winjets in there.
As for the bulb type, yes, it's a different bulb than the stock low beams.

The winjets are H7 type bulbs whereas the stock bulbs are H11, so your current hid kit won't work with the winjets. The winjets also just use the same bulb for the low and highbeam (a little flap moves for the highbeams), so its a different setup than stock which uses the DRLs for highbeam.

Ah, I see. Thanks to the both of you. I figured it out for the DRLs. I was getting confused with the wiring since my old HIDs were still in place and thanks for letting me know that I actually do need to get a new set of HIDs. For some reason, I was under the impression the stock headlamps used H7s as well. Guess not
