OBDII Bluetooth and Torque app, throwing CEL

So I recently got a working OBDII Blue tooth reader, and it works flawlessly other than it will throw a CEL light that I have read in other posts here. The engine goes in to "limp" mode, and it sucks to pull over to clear the code.

Does anyone have any issues with this? Seems like the ECU doesn't like the Torque App. It has thrown a code while I was driving as well, not just from start up.

Some said keep clearing it, and it won't come back. I am FI'd so I hate to see it go to "limp" mode after CEL, regarding AFR and such.

Helppp!

Its not the TQ app its the BT adapater being in an idle state or powered on trying to communicate at the wrong time, tripping the CEL.

If you have the BT MX adapter you can set sleep states.

What's the code?
I've had it happen to me once, but it was on startup.

it was like U0037 or something like that. Network fault code. Its hella annoying, going limp mode scares me, looks like the idle stays at around 1100rpm on limp CEL mode as well..

I'm only gonna put it on during auto-x, track or canyon runs, don't need to watch it all the time while DDing unless ambient temp is like 90+

You will normally get that when you turn your engine off and back on after few min. with Torque and device on and communicating.

It has come on while driving as well, not just at start up. its pretty annoying since the CEL makes the ECU mode differently it seems like.

Yes it will limp on you even while driving. You have to make sure that torque is not running on every startup.

Over a year here with Torque and no issues. I have my Nexus 7 in dash and configured to start Torque and connect once the tablet starts charging (starting up the car). Weird that you guys are having issues. Hell I'm even using the cheap knockoff eBay ELM BT.

Guess that explains why, no custom ROM for it.
