ST (Suspension Techniques) coilovers

Anyone used these coilovers?

Apparently made by KW, basically the same as KW V1's but without the stainless bodies (not an issue for me in Norcal) and the price is right ($850).

I'm only wanting to lower my car maybe 1.5", not looking for gobs of camber, I just want the right stance, with wheels and tires, get my new car looking sweet.

Sounds like the spring rates are not too stiff, looks like just what I need to lower my car but still enjoy a ride that's close to oem.

The VW and Audi guys live them. Turned many skeptics into believers. Best bang for the buck when it comes to affordable coilovers.

Basically explains it there.

ST is made by KW. Essentially the ST kit is a KW V1, but with galvanized steel shock tubes with a zinc coating, instead of inox stainless that KW uses. The only other difference between the ST and the KW V1 is that KW comes with a lifetime warranty and ST's only come with a 5 year, which if you ask me, still isn't bad since most coilovers don't come with a warranty, or only have a 1 year warranty.

Spring rates are progressive, and the shocks have a pre-set dampening, so no adjust-ability there. A great budget minded coilover kit essentially is what you're getting here.

Thanks very much!

They look like exactly what I need.

On my old 135i, I went with Ohlins, which were very nice, but I never utilized them. Never messed with adjustments, never tracked or AX'd like I had intended, so this time around I wanted to go more for looks, and felt I didn't need to spend 4 grand on coilovers.

Ordering mine today!

Nice coilovers! Audi VW guys love these. Haven't seen many vw/audi guys use these on track. Plenty on street though.

I had these on my MK6 GTI. They were great for the price. Maxed out they don't go stupid low but ride quality was just like stock. It was still tight around corners but they were so smooth on the road you never guessed I had coils.

This was my GTI on the coils.

Popular in the Focus community as well. Knew a few Miata running them as well, ST's extended pretty far in getting their product in all types of "performance" cars.

Spring rates aren't progressive, but they are soft.

Well actually you both are right..

They are progressive in the rear of Golf/Jetta, but up front they are linear..

Just depend of the car and the way it was designed...

Right, just meant that for the FRS/BRZ they are linear all around.

No... this is the entry level of KW.. if you want custom with KW, you go into the race application.. which is 4K+$

@racecomp , i never saw the FR-S/BRZ kit from ST, but i could imagine it beeing linear!!

The spring rates are the same as KW V3.
