BRZs at port?

I ordered a SWP BRZ Limited from Browns Subaru of Manassas and it was supposed to arrive at port on Sept 1st and be at the dealer on the 18th. I've called them a few times since and just get told "you'll be the first one to know." I'm wondering if there is any info out there on what is going on. I remember reading that a couple of cars at port got wind damage and are being replaced. Well I already have a VIN and even have a loan check at my house. I hope theyre not trying to salvage one of the damaged ones and sell it to me. Is anybody else in the same situation?

you'll be the first one to know.

one way that you can tell when cars are shipping from port is check the inventories of other local dealers to see if you see any BRZ's in transit. that's generally a good indication that the last batch has been released from port.

Well it seems I spoke too soon. It came in Sat an I picked it up yesterday. The wait was worth it! Only problem with the sale was the dealer drilled the front bumper even after multiple conversations stating not to. Why can't we just buy direct from Subaru and skip the idiots..

I sent him an e-mail expressing my disappointment with the sale. He sent one back asking what they can do to take care of the situation. What should I ask for? Reimbursement for my grimmspeed license plate holder? Reimbursement of the dealer fee? How far can you go when you have one up on a dealer?

How about replacing the bumper?

I'd be more than happy to take care of you any way that I can, just let me know what I can do for you! No problem sending our Lic Plate kit back to us for a full refund as long as you didn't take a sledge hammer to it or something

The only problem with that is then the dealer has to paint match the new bumper. If OP wants to go that route, I recently tagged a cone on 64 that cracked my bumper so insurance is replacing it. Having it fixed at a place recommended by Ferrari/Porsche guys (Burleigh's in Richmond). I'd gladly trade him my freshly painted SWP BRZ Limited non-drilled front bumper cover for his factory painted drilled cover.
