Unhappy Transmission Issues (AT)

Hey guys, I'm an owner of a '15 FRS. I'm experiencing a problem and I would appreciate some help.

Premise:
I recently installed Weir's 4.88 FD and I've been enjoying it for over a month.

Work has been done by a reputable local shop where the owner's frs (MT) has the same mod. I was assured the install went flawlessly as he has lots of experience with this. The car has not been re-tuned after the install.

The issue:
While the car is fine most of the time. But after switching back and forth from sport to manual mode during moderately long drives, the transmission has been acting oddly. The RPM suddenly drops to exactly 1k rpm and when I gas it, the engine revs as if it's in neutral gear. This happens on all modes (normal/sport/manual).

Sometimes it fixes itself after few minutes. Turning the car off and restarting it seems to fix this issue.

It's confirmed that not putting in sport/manual mode from the get go never reproduces the issue.

Did some research and it seems AT BMW's with manual mode has this issue as well. They enter a "failsafe mode" activated because of a change in shifting patterns not recognized by the TCU or due to extreme wear on the transmission and gear slippage.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
