Most Close to stock fit tire on 17x8.25

Will they fit .com tells me 245/40 on 17x8.25 is almost identical to how a 215/45 fits on the stock 17x7

But im being told theyre too heavy. Will slow the car down. To grippy. Ect... Theyre like decimal point differences. How can it be so bad!?!?!?!? Wtf. Lol. The speedo error is only -.4. Ive beeb suggested 225 45. Speedo error is -1.25. And its a bigger tire. So how is THAT not bogging the car down more.

Can someone who knows what theyre talkjng about pls just tell me. Simply. In numbers. I dont need an explinstion.

What tire size should i buy??? :| :|

Rim is 17x8.25

Definitely don't want a 225 on a 8.25 (IMO) because they will have a stretched appearance. 245/40 will be the most likely tire selection for proper fitment.

This person did 235/45.... so. Yeah.

235 45 says its almost an inch taller than stock? That seems like alot of tire. How is 245 40 "meatier" but has less tire height

Not saying that, just showing you a different option with pictures.

IMO, 245/40/17 would be your best bet. Wide range of available tires, that are reasonably priced as well. Would look the "best", obviously that is subjective.... and it keeps your speedo as close to stock as possible.

If you don't know how to read aspect ratios and answer this question there is a whole section on this forum dedicated to this.... Also, here you go.

235 45 is stretched and has more side wall. 245 40 has less sidewall and is less stretch. I dunno man its heiroglyphics to me

Because they're wider..... A 225 looks puny in width compared to a 245. The lower aspect ratio sidewall is what helps it look "right" when it is on the rim, and ultimately on the car. Which of these two physically look more purposeful? (size wise not tread design) I know it is a 15" wheel size, but beggars can't be choosers when they grab internet photos quickly.

Hmmm. I hate having to make uneducated or unobserved decisions

Well, you've made about 18 threads about tire size, tire type, wheel type, ride height etc with a massive outpouring of help. If you feel like you're making an uneducated decision do the footwork and research until you feel confident. A lot of people on this and other forums have years of experience to draw from.
