Cusco Differential brace install question (SOLVED)
Edit: Re-installed and 1000% confirmed, the lip goes into the hole in the subframe.
For those who have installed the brace, the nuts that go inside the subframe have one flat side and the other has a small "lip". The guide has no clear instructions on how which side is supposed to makes contact with the subframe. I initially installed it with the flat side (side with no lip) towards the subframe which makes sense.... But I was looking at it today, and it got me thinking if the "lip" on the other side of the nut is supposed to be the side mating to the subframe, and the nut "lip" goes through the subframe hole to keep the nut centered? Any ideas? I tried finding pictures of the nuts but couldn't find ones that clearly show the lip. Hopefully someone who has done the install understands what I'm talking about and can chime in. Below are the install instructions. Thanks. http://www.cuscousainc.com/downloads...rz_zn6_zc6.pdf ![]()

Is the lip like the like what you see on the wheel hub (goes into the center bore of the wheels)? If so, I would put it in whichever direction lets the lip center the nut in the subframe.

Yes, it's basically a lip like the hub. I'll re-install it today, make sure the lip indeed fits in the hole and report back.

Now that the brace has been correctly installed.
I have thought about getting one, too, so I would be grateful if you could provide feedback on the effectiveness of this mod. Thanks. |

It does increase NVH, but when you're making power and already have flywheel chatter, stiffer motor mounts, stiffer shifter, it's just one more piece to help performance. The NVH is not absurd, just a bit more whine while cruising and some clanking noises when coming off a stop. They don't bother me really. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
