Amsoil says that with their signature series oil and their filter you are covered for 15k miles or 1 year. That is provided you don't take it to a track. If the OEM warranty denies a claim based on the oil and it's length of service Amsoil will cover it.
That is the setup I am using.

This has been discussed in great detail in more then a few threads. Consensus is the stock one for this motor is in fact the best one.

I also heard somewhere that OEM filters are the best
Maybe I'll experiment with them and see how they are

I cannot believe a filter matters that much if OCI is 5000/6000. I used OEM for the first time at 1600 miles. Next time, I might try PureOne, which is easily available on Amazon.

With subarus, just stick with the OEM oil filter. It works just fine.

Not going to lie. A small part of me does in fact wonder how effective the Project MU, HKS and Cusco magnetic oil filters really are?? Must be the JDM bling making me curious.

So since I have a honda, I have lots of honda oil filters sitting around (OEM, Fram, Purolator).
Well, one day I was changing the oil on my FRS and realized I didn't buy a filter (but thought I had) so took the old one off and compared the thread pitch, seal and other various dimensions to my Honda filters and noticed something... They were essentially the same. But I wasn't satisfied so I did some cross referencing on Purolators website and Purolator lists the same part number for the Honda S2000 and the Subaru BRZ. PL14459 FRAM, however does not. FYI, I'm not recommending any specific oil filter. I'm just using these companies as a P/N reference, nobody cares what brand you prefer. The FRAM Tough Guard series shows the TG9688 for the Twins and the TG3593A for the S2000 (and most Hondas). Look at the difference in the filter size: ![]() None of this really matters, it's just interesting. The Subaru OEM filter is very good so if that blows your skirt up then none of this matters.
