OFT that used to work stopped. ECU Info reads, but realtime diagnostic does not

I have read, and flashed back and forth between 2+ and 2+ E85 since 2019. Starting 2021 I left it in 2+

2 weeks ago I flashed stock with stock headers for smog. I just put my catless UEL back in, and it will not write.

It will tell me to turn ignition power on twice, and then say "An error occured while writing to the ECU. Please check cable connections and try again."

I tried ECU Info and it will read "ECU Type - DENS0 GT86" and the other fields are blank. Does this mean the connection is bad/good?

This would happen from time to time before. I would replug the cables, sometimes many times, and it would eventually work. I would sometimes disconnect the battery for a while till the car died completely and then try and it would work.

This time, however, it is not working. I'm debating buying a new cable (65$ lol) or just giving up on OFT. Other threads like this are usually solved by plugging in harder (I'm on the verge of damaging my OBD port if i plug any harder), someone fiddling with the OFT and their computer (I have never plugged into my computer), or this error behavior occurs before first read/write (I have done both). Does anyone have advice?

FWIW, the front of my car is on stands. I got superstitious and closed my hood lol. Unplugged electronics (dash cam in glove and chargers in center). I turned my car on for a few minutes until it warmed up so battery should be good, but i haven't checked that with a multimeter

I vacuumed all connectors to no avail. Gonna go drive for a while and then try a flash again

Edit so as to not bump thread repeatedly: Realtime diagnostic data works if I squeeze on the tablet end of the cable with my fingers. So I guess it is cable related after all. What I dont understand is why it doesn't flash/show any other symptoms of cable failure. That kind of threw me off the trail
