No crickets at idle, but at light throttle?
New sound as of this week, 11k on the odo. Is this normal? HPFP talking louder through my Tomei 60R? This is the first week above 80F since I installed. I just got under the car today to wrap heat tape around the springs to rule out that rattle (which worked for anyone who has that issue)

Sounds more like a belt squeek, throttle body (rare and it's usually drowned out by all other noises but try with the engine off), or some other metal on metal sound (exhaust like you're thinking).

Thanks. I'm hoping it's just crickets. I can live with crickets because I know they won't hurt anything. If it gets any worse/more noticeable I'll take it in. I'm betting the tensioner pulley if it's a pulley.

Update: Dealership says it's the fuel pump. New parts ordered and free under warranty. I don't think that's it, but we'll see. Either way new pump!

I did just happen across a post where Ultramaroon references crickets between 800-1100 rpm unless it's really warm out... Which is my current window of noise. Also details the engine conditions for 4 MPa fuel pressure until throttle has increased enough. Could just be I'm looking for confirmation though. Parts due in Wednesday. Even if it's the old pump, I may take them up on the install just to see.

Update: The more I listen to the sound the more I doubt it's the pump. It sounds like it's coming from the bottom passenger side of the bay and pump is top driver side if I'm not mistaken. Plus after the dealership scuffing my bumper just having it for 45 minutes, I don't want to give it to them for a day. I'm betting its the overpipe or header, both of which I will be replacing this year anyway. On a side note, I installed OFT Stg1 93 this evening. Can't wait for Stg2 UEL 93.

Update: For whatever it's worth, the noise has stopped for the last 4 days (knock on wood). No changes in anything mechanically. Temperature has been typical. I did get a bad batch of gas recently and my trims are starting to calm back down... Don't know if that somehow fixed something.
