That's a tough guess at this point since we have virtually no solid engine info!

Subaru is claiming 36 hwy for the '12 Impreza 2.5L [likely FB25]. With all the EPA highway mileage tricks automakers are pulling recently, city mileage might be 24-ish, with a combined of 29mpg. Drop 0.5L of displacement, lotza weight and aero drag, and the FT-86 might just be able to squeeze 26/37 & 30 combined. Honestly I'm not expecting such numbers, but if they do happen then that's a big bonus.

Average will probably be around 25mpg for a lower spec engine, and probably like 19 for a 300hp engine or something comparable (just my guesses). I think Toyota wants the base model to get at least 30mpg highway, and it could be achievable, but thats not realistic in an average between city & highway driving. There is no way to tell at this point, everything is just on paper.

I think it'll be 24-26mpg MINIMUM.

with the light weight of the vehicle and only 4 cylinders...i would expect it to be close to 30mpg. If it's 19, then something's wrong...I don't think we'll see a 300hp version at all either. Probably 250hp tops...

Well, the new Miata gets 21/28. I would guess that with the introduction of DS4 and the added weight, the FT might be able to get 23/30? Hard to say at this point.
