Jacking up car from tie dow hooks

hey guys, I have a jack that is not long enough to reach to the jack point on the front of my car (i have a front lip). However, it does easily reach to the hooks under the car from the sides, I believe this are for transport. Does anybody else jack up the car from this point? I've done it 2 times and never had a problem, but the thing is it only lifts it on one side instead of the middle, I was considering getting a loner jack if this is bad idea. Thanks guys

Drive up on ramps or pieces of wood to get the front high enough for your jack to reach the center jack point.

^ ......I agree.

Or jack it up from the side.

Those hooks would most likely hold, but that's not what they were designed for. Besides, it looks like a jack could easily slip off of them.

Yeah, they work just fine. I do the same thing just to get the front of the car off the ground enough to get my 3 ton jack on the front jack point.
