How do you replace the fuel filter on this car?

So I did a quick search and couldn't find anything on replacing the fuel filter on this car. Would it be possible for someone to make a step-by-step tutorial on how to change the fuel filter next time they do it? I know a lot of us haven't hit the 75k mark yet but it would be cool to know how.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I was reading those instructions. Nothing quite like striping your car to change a filter. Must of had to change them to deal with the modern gas breaking down and causing sediment and deposits in the fuel tank. I heard someplace that is a problem. (sic)

Yep, I read that someplace ...... must be a problem in "outer space".

hmmmm...... can you have sediment forming in a liquid in a zero gravity situation .... ??

I recall checking the sediment bowl on my old 30' and 40's cars ...... never did find much sediment.

Maybe the old fuel pumps just sucked it up, the carburetor squirted it out and the engine burnt it up .......

Seriously though as soon as I saw the image of the top of the fuel sender I noped the fuck out, doesn't seem safe to do on your own in your garage or under a shady tree with fuel vapors and such. Just disassembling the fuel sender to get to the fuel filter looks like deactivating a bomb and seems tedious Does anyone know the life expectancy of these filters (assuming a life of relatively good gas)

Wow...that does not look like fun. I will likely be doing this in the spring along with spark plugs.

Doing both you may as well just pull the body!

So has anyone on this forum had there fuel pump replaced yet? Manual states every 75k miles and I know some of you have hit that number already. If you had it replaced at the dealer, how much did they charge you for it?

seems like the only thing worse than a fuel pump replacement would be spark plugs. Its not a surprise it so hard, but its like 6 pages long of instructions... definitely paying someone for that!

So, anyone done this yet? (Gas filter change/check?) DIY request time hehe

I just did one on a 142k Frontier and it was full of dark goo. No wonder check engine light came up twice in Mexico and stayed on until we got back!
