Rod Bearings/Main Bearings
So I am now building the block. I finished the valvetrain, trans, and suspension. In my search for information, i have come up short on how to access what bearing sizes i would need. I am going to be using the stock crankshaft. I found that King makes some pretty good bearings that last but im stuck looking at different sizes.
I am not going to modify the stock crank, so my question is the following. Where can i find the dimensions for the stock OEM bearings to compare? Also, has anyone used the King XPG bearings on a stock crank? If so what size did you use to provide the correct lubrication and avoid contact

You need to go through the procedure in the service manual to determine what size bearings you will need.

I have an IAG block and I believe they use those bearings and the New Subaru FA20 DIT WRX crankshaft . Maybe just contact King and ask which bearings you should use then you dont run the risk of using the wrong ones

They are can recommend a type of bearing but not the size.
The only way to know what size he needs is to remove the ones already in there.

Like I said in his other thread.
If you are asking these types of questions you really shouldn't be building your own engine.

Thanks, yea ive talked to a couple of builders that gave me some guidance. I was having a hard time seeing what the oem sizes were. I wanted to see if i should look into standard or get a different size. Since i was going to use a new crank i figured i could go standard but measuring would definitely help. King, Real St, and IAG recommend standard if not using an old crank. I know some like to run tighter and some looser. Ill look into it some more.

It is kind of a faux pas to post multiple threads about the same thing in different places. If you look at forum member "Ultramaroon" he has a link to the service manual in his sig. It is best to start at the manual.

All FNGs take their lumps, you're no different. I'm a seasoned jeep guy still asking dumb questions in here about this car. Learn to skim off the ribbing and take the info and run with it.
