Anyone notice this car eats coolant at a high rate?
I have filled the bottle twice in a 8,000 mile period, and its already halfway down after a month. Is this normal?
I remember refilling it once a year on other cars.

Huh??
My coolant hasn't budged. Needing to top up a cars coolant once a year isn't normal either. |

Every car I have owned up to the FR-S has consumed coolant, but they all had issues. My A4 needed coolant and oil topped off every 3-4k miles.
My FR-S remains within spec though

If you want to check your coolant levels, wait until the car is completely cooled down, and then open the radiator cap. If you can see coolant at the top then you should be fine. Don't top off the over flow tank. |

Coolant is not a fluid that is consumed. If your coolant level is consistently going down, you have an issue.
Make sure you're filling it properly. The coolant bottle has cold and hot levels marked. Make sure the coolant is between those marks. Do not fill the bottle! The levels are where they are to leave room for expansion. If the coolant is filled properly, and you find it is going down take your car to the dealership! You have a leak somewhere. Hopefully it's just a loose hose clamp. But it could be a faulty head gasket. |

I went on a 1000+ road trip recently and noticed some liquid coming out of my car when I was filling up, closer inspection showed it to be water. I checked my coolant level since I got back and if 0 is low and 10 is full, it's sitting at a 2, cold, on level ground. I thought I'd just go buy some coolant and add it to the system, problems?

Hard to say when its on the ground but I think it was clear like water, it certainly had the texture and "smell" or lack there of like water. When I got some on my hands (only a small amount) it appeared to be clear I didnt notice any sign of blue tint.

Then it's most likely A/C discharge and completely normal.
