Any idea what the stock bonnet weighs?

That's probably the biggest weight to be saved on the front end. Will certainly help offset the additional weight for the 2j.

I understand that the 2j is a pig...but I look past that pretty quickly with how well it responds to mods. Not to say that an LSx is a slouch, but I think dollar for dollar, the 2j has an easier time...

And I am definitely not completely hung up on the "500" ponies mark. To be frank, most cars I've driven at that power were significantly heavier.
