Varis 2JZ Build
November 6, 2016:
Hello, I decided to slightly reorganize my thread since it was cluttered. I've been tracking my FRS regularly since I've owned it and modified it along the way. Unfortunately, my motor went on Oct 9, 2016 while tracking it at Buttonwillow Raceway. Though it seems a bit soon given the motor has only 35k miles, it wasn't that surprising since everyone seems to blow up these motors. I already had a 2JZ planned but I didn't expect to do it so soon. Luckily I had been collecting parts for this build but I'm still a good while from finishing it. I should have this ready by summer time and hopefully in time for 86Fest and Speed Ring. Jason Current Modifications (parts in red are off. Inquire if you're interested): Exterior
Engine and Transmission:
Footwork
Interior

After a week of daily driving it, I took it out to Buttonwillow to see what it felt like stock. I threw on a few supporting mods like Raceseng cam plate, Perrin oil cooler and Cusco catch can to help the car. Surprisingly, the car was pretty fun and I clocked a 2:16 6 laps in. More to come on future posts!
Just picked up a Nardi 330mm Deep Corn: Last edited by Apex-Apex; 11-06-2016 at 04:26 PM. |

Latest Hyper Rev from https://www.more-japan.com/
My Nagisa rails came in from https://www.more-japan.com/ It's actually pretty cool that they used Japanese newspaper to wrap the goods. As for the rails, the quality is just as good as the Bride ones. It didn't come with resistor for the airbag but I have a few Works Bell ones laying around for that. The seat I'm using is Bride Zeta 3 off my old car and my seating position is a good 2 inches lower. I'm 5'8 and it's kind of hard to see over the steering wheel now. |

Works Bell long hub installed along with the Nardi steering wheel. There's honestly no reason to run anything other than Works Bell.
Now to wait for the shift knob and floor mats. |

Yeah, I didn't know until my friend showed me. I haven't figured out what to do with cruise control but since I don't use it, it hasn't bothered me.

Since I loved how the bronze ZE40 looked on my old car, I decided to pick up a set for the FRS.
