Trouble at Track, Need Help

I'm sitting at Oregon Raceway Park. Did 5 or 6 good laps and all of a sudden the traction light comes on, abs light comes on, check engine light comes on, and engine goes into limp mode.

Plugged in a code reader and the only code we get is P2158 Speed Sensor D
Tried to clear code and it won't clear.
Let the car and engine cool down and it won't clear
Tried the peddle dance and it won't clear
unhooked the battery for 15 minutes to reset ECU and still won't clear.

Called the dealer and they don't have a clue, all they could say is bring it in Monday.

What has been done to the car is
bypassed stock transmission cooler and added a large after market universal transmission cooler
Added a oil cooler
went from 4.10 rear end gears to 4.88s
Installed a Vigilant cold air intake
All else is stock

Anyone got any ideas?

Sounds like you might have broken or have a faulty speed sensor. Not sure if D= rear right but that would make sense since you have 4 of them. Did you hit something hard at speed?

Good luck!

Id start with the checking the obvious, wheel speed sensor. How long have you had the gearing changed?

You on stock brakes and wheels/tires?

Changed the gears three days ago. Still stock brakes, wheels, and tires. Didn't hit anything.

Also you can not disable any of the traction or sport modes by holding the button down.

Checking the speed sensors. Is there a way to check them other than visibly looking at them?

I just pulled all 4 speed sensors, all look brand new.

Pedal dance = disables all traction control and VDC, leaves ABS on. If you're doing the pedal dance correctly you should be able to put the car in Diagnostic Mode and drive without the car interfering electronically. You wouldn't be able to turn off this mode either until the next time you start the car.

When I do the peddle dance the traction control goes off and so does VDC, but the three warning lights stay on.

Try pulling the fuse for ABS to see if you can get the car anywhere. Beyond that you're at the mercy of the speed sensor (not the one on the wheels, those are ABS sensors)

Nevermind... I just looked at the wiring diagram and it seems like the vehicle speed is read off the 4 sensors.

Not the same issue, but I have a sneaky feeling your final drive is messing things up.

I tried pulling the ABS fuse and that made no difference.
