USDM BRZ tS question
 

Can someone tell me the part numbers of USDM tS springs/shocks as I want to fit them in my car?
Or pm me his MY18-19 tS chassis number as even dealers are not sure about the part codes except if they search them with chassis number?

If you're going through all that trouble already, why not get an aftermarket coilover system?

Going all OE will probably cost you the same. Looking up parts for just the standard BRZ/FRZ, just getting all 4 shocks, springs, and top hats already going to hit you at ~$800 USD from the dealer. tS version probably a little more. Then add tax if applicable (all of this is assuming you buy new from dealer).

At $1K USD, there are really good entry level coil on the market already with adjustability

I agree with what was said above. I also have checked Ebay for used TS/ PP parts as well. They are there and not too expensive, just make sure it shows "SACHS" and doesn't just say " fits 2017my" or whatever.

Actually I tried Ohlins coilovers for ~600Kms but due to our uneven roads along with the reduced rear suspension travel of Ohlins caused me more troubles than solved that's why I am searching for OEM quality sportier springs/shocks w/almost stock ride height.
Ohlins is a remarkable coilover with perfect behavior but not for my usage - no track days - and the roads I drive!

That was my first choice, I contacted Showa as I am parts reseller but shipping takes more than 3 months to my place!

$1000 coilovers are definitely going to ride and handle worse than the OEM TS parts.

I personally don't have any experience with the ts OE performance, but I doubt systems like Tein Flex A/Z, Bilstein B14, Blitz ZZR, and Apexi N1 are slouches at that price point. Considering the tS suspension is stiffer than stock (15% front, 8% rear apparently), not too sure how that will compare against softer spring coil systems. Anyone with actual experience on the differences could weigh in better

Based on the dealer price listing provided by @norcalpb , it's going to cost way more than $1k USD from the dealer. Getting up to $1.5k to $2k, if that opens any doors on aftermarket systems.

In the end, @JIM THEO already mentioned they already tried coilovers in the past. Really up to them now if they are willing to bite the cost bullet on BRZ tS from dealership or give a different system a shot.



A lot of the adjustable coilovers have shorter travel up front due to the construction & consideration for height adjustability that is independent from spring preload. The Ohlin V2 and Tein Flex A, etc, have this design.
- Ohlin spring rate might also have been a little low (V2 being about 4 kg/mm), so if you are willing to bump up to 6 kg/mm, might be able to swing it.



Another bet is to go with a euro-style coil-over, where height adjustment and preload are linked. They tend to have longer overall travel lengths. For example, K&W and Eibach systems are of this style.

@norcalpb I contacted some dealers last month with the codes you posted but their answer is they aren't sure if those part numbers are from tS, ONLY with chassis number they can check it that's why I ask for a tS chassis number.
Moreover, those codes are recently available in Europe where tS doesn't exist at all which makes me believe they are different from USDM tS springs/shocks.
Bear in mind USDM tS springs are pink like STI ones and STI parts start with ST while the above part numbers have normal Subaru coding.

@EndlessAzure exactly this, I have for sale a brand new Ohlins SUS-MP21 tested for less than 600 miles, perfect coilovers with fantastic rebound and quite comfort but NOT for my needs.

Just a point that bugs me and adds zero value to the discussion other than making me feel better.


There is no such thing as a USDM BRZ. The D stands for "Domestic" as in where it was made. All US BRZs are USI, as in "Import" from the US perspective or USE for "export" from the Japanese.


In contribution to the actual thread:
The strut part numbers provided by Norcal are accurate for the USI Sti. I don't have the ability to check the springs.
You need to check against a VIN not a chassis number.

Someone previously posted these are the part numbers for the SACHS:

Right = 20310CA220
Left = 20310CA230
Rear = 20365CA210

Those are the part numbers for the standard BRZ Showas, according to parts.subaru.com 20310CA240/250 and 20365CA220 are the part numbers for the Sachs, I am still searching those of the springs:

@Tcoat you are right US tS is probably the correct term.

LOL doesn't matter really it is just a pet peeve of mine.
