Hi, testing this weekend at two tracks. Here's where the fans are. They are in the center of the hub and pointing toward the caliper and mount on two of the wheel bearing bolt heads. There's a heat sensor that goes into the bleed screw that turns them on when the caliper is warmer than street use (about 2.5Amps) and turns the fans on a higher speed (~12.5A) when the caliper gets really hot. The fans continue to run until the caliper is back down to warm in the paddock.

These pics are a month old and things keep changing but you can get the idea of what's going on.

Do you have any more pics? Those are very low resolution and the angles actually make it difficult to see what's what. The top picture I can tell is the back of the OEM caliper and bleed screw. The bottom pic I have no idea what I'm looking at.

Carreras (GT3, I think) have a nifty piece of formed plastic that wraps around the control arm to help direct air into the brake rotor, but they're $$$. The spatulas tend to cost less.

edit: It turns out that 993 brake ducts are around $12 each, and GT3 brake ducts are around $30 each. According to the GTRLife thread.

Man $12. I spent nearly that on each spatula.

Searched and found someone who fitted the GT3 air guides to an 86. Looks pretty good.

I use GT3 ducs too.
it's very cost effective method to lower brake temerature.
and easy to install.

I am not sure how effective those GT3 ducts would be, I think the best way is to combine the proper ducting (fog light delete and washer fluid is pretty much must and I tried at least 5-6 different route for brake ducts none of them worked with the KW setup except the one in my DIY ) and other stuff such as Titanium shims, thermal wrapping, Motul rBF 600 and good brake pads.. I didn't experience any fade issues at track

With your power, one trip to Tremblant or the Glen and you'll be over that for good. lol These short, stoppy/turny tracks are anything but the bees knees for a real car.

Fred's site shows 10/22 for Palmer's opening. That's very late in the year, so I'd guess that at some point the opening will move out to next spring. I wonder how much granite they've had to move around or truck off that mountain top.
