I'd expand that by saying on road(paved or gravel) RWD rules. AWD or 4x4 rule offroad excluding go-karts and buggies.
Gas prices must hurt hard if you DD an AWD. Our winters are dry and don't stay below freezing so we got it easy. This last winter we had snow most of the time but I work from home and everyone else just had to get used to it
