Report: Production FT-86 to Arrive by Year-End at 2011 Tokyo Motor Show

According to Japan’s Best Car magazine, the production version of the Toyota FT-86 will arrive by the end of the year, at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show in December. Still, nobody knows what will be the total output delivered by this car, but we do know that the FT-86 will be powered by a 2.0-liter petrol unit and mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

According to Toyota, this engine will deliver a lively, accessible performance and enhanced driving pleasure. Regarding the design, the new car will be very close to the FT-86 II Concept, which is inspired by the great Toyota cars of the past, starting with the legendary 2000 GT in the 1960s. In the concept form, the FT-86 II Concept measures 4,235mm long, 1,795mm wide and 1,270mm high, with a long, 2,570mm wheelbase. [Discussion Inside]
