Is there some sort of gauge fetish out there that I am not aware of?
"Show me your RPMs". "Show me your mileage indicator" "Ohhhhhh baby ya, that's what I want. Let's see a little more tach. Oh yaaaaaa that is sooooo good. Now how about a little odometer just for meeeeee?"

I sure do!
It's my first automatic actually. My wife works at the local hospital and pulls call pretty regularly, so we needed to be able to swap cars without too much fuss. That reading isn't completely fair though. I had just swapped out the stock battery for an Optima red top, resetting the computer. Then I went to visit my Mother in Bellvue WA, which was about three hours of highway driving and maybe one hour noodling around town to breakfast. When I got back that was the reading on my dash. That was with 90 octane NO ethanol. Currently I'm averaging about 26.5mpg.

The dash gauge is not really accurate. Gas mileage needs to be measured over a longer distance with more fillups to account for statistical anomalies...

Yes. I've checked before. My actual average is near enough to my computer's average as to make no difference. Usually between 24mpg and 28mpg. I realize that my photograph is an anomaly, practically rigged, which is why I took a photo-figured I'd never see that again. :-) The most consistent mpg I've ever had in my life was an '03 Suzuki SV1000S. It got 50mpg whether I was doing 120 on the freeway or 35 in town. Three gallons went in that tank when the dummy light came on, and three gallons always took me 150miles until the next dummy light. That was a great little motor!

Share your MPG or L/100km displayed
^^Look about right, that's exectly how it was for me before I reset the battery last month. However it feel like our car's city gas mileage is really bad but good on highway like almost double. Lol

Me also! Well with the horrible increase to 7.4 since I have been letting it idle longer to warm up lately.
