Satnav antenna position
Hi,
For the Toyota GTS. Our satnav is flaky detecting the satellites, now even moreso after I fitted a dashmat. Can someone tell me where the antenna is with measurements from the headlight control sensor button thing please. |

I extracted the head unit and found our antenna 9cm below the top of the dash. If you measure 19cm towards the centre of the windscreen base from the light sensor, then measure 17cm from the front edge of the dash towards the point near the centre of the windscreen, you are right over it. It was attached by its own magnet to a 7cm? square ground plate which in turn was stuck on top of a metal bar by some sort of sticky stuff.
I tried the mod of "alchemy" on the ************* forums and so far the unit has not missed a beat. BTW alchemy's pics are of a RH drive car. |
