Pumping gas takes 10 minutes...

Hi

Has anybody else had this or a similar issue? on 2013 FRS models.

I think something is wrong with my gas pumping hole? The spot where my gas cap screws in to. Either a sensor is missing or some other part removed or missing?

I cannot let the gas pump sit on the auto shut off. The auto lock to hold the gas pumping trigger. It will click off as if it just hit top off in 2 seconds. I have to hold the gas handle trigger in mid pump and it takes over 10 minutes to fill up a whole tank. I cannot even hold the pump at full blast for more than a few seconds.

Just tired of this issue if somebody has a solution

thanks

does this happen at different gas stations? I've had an issue similar to that in the past with this car at a certain pump at a certain gas station.

Happens at most I can remember

I see there are a few older posts about this issue...

something about a tube getting worn out and falling in or being blocked..

I will call a dealership and see if they have a fix they are aware of

Let us know what the dealer says; that's pretty odd. Does it do this every single time?

Hold the pump trigger at a slightly different angle.

Collapsed filler tube or plugged evap cylinder filter. Rare but not unheard of.

Dealership has to order the part for me costing 117$ some kind of hose.

unfortunately it is not under warranty any more so I will have to bring it in and pay them to inspect.

Mine always clicks after a few seconds, sometimes it clicks a second time and then I fill up no problem. I usually just move the gas pump out a bit

I've encountered this issue with a Cooper S, I think it had something to do with the evap system maybe? Instead of just fully inserting the nozzle you had to back it out slightly or the auto shutoff would just engage constantly.
