But will it work with the XM unit I have on the original base radio? The original radio is no beauty but it is just fine for tuning the couple of XM stations I listen to.

I don't know...sure it's a slightly bigger screen from 5.8" to 6.1", I think the Premium Pioneer upgraded head unit looks nicer. This looks too plasticky in my opinion. At least the Premium Pioneer has a nicer face with some red accents.

So did tapes, and a lot of cars had a combo CD/tape player for years after tapes were obsolete.

I hope you haven't spent big money upgrading your stereo and then play MP3's off of your phone through it. The loss in sound quality with the compressed format of MP3's is atrocious....

Ya, I was gonna point that out as well. CD is still the best quality next to something like FLAC that you can have in a car. Thats why Ill never get it when people want to stream via bluetooth for audio.

No offense guys, but we aren't all audiophiles. I am happy with how the stock system works. I'll be happy streaming through Pandora/etc, and from my iPod. The sound is good enough for me, and 95% of the other owners would agree with me.

If you don't like it, go ahead and change it to your liking. But don't get angry when people enjoy it as is.

Anyone here work for a dealer and possible to find out the model number of this? Assuming it doesn't cost too much, it would be a decent plug-and-play upgrade from the standard 2013 Scion FR-S radio.

Then why do you want to get rid of the bespoke? Aside from its halfass nav its a great unit. I stream pandora from my phone as well and enjoy it.

The point is CD isnt going away untill there is a media of equal or better qualtiy. It would be like going from Bluray to streaming 480p.

That was kinda my point. I have the stock BeSpoke setup(well, I added a sub)and think its fine. I was just pointing out that upgrading all the equipment and then playing MP3's over it is not using all that upgraded equipment to its potential. It seems kinda pointless. Kinda like upgrading and then listening to AM radio only...

CD is just a media format. You can put a .wav file on a USB device and play it that way. Or any lossless audio format for that matter.

Why would you use a 800 MB CD when you can get a 32 GB USB flash drive for under 20 bucks?
