I've had some pretty varied tanks, my best was 34.6MPG. (After I installed my coilovers, been driving sloooooow.)

And my worst was 26.4MPG, I'm pretty sure I did a lot of pulls on the highway, haha.

Comparison of past cars I've owned over the same daily commute:

- FR-S: 28 mpg
- GTI: 24 mpg
- STI: 19 mpg
- RSX: 30 mpg

This thread has to be a joke....

My guess is the OP is driving his first car with an MPG indicator. My Jeep drops to damned near 0 when I gun it. It shows instantaneous MPG. If you were to continue to 'mash it' for a whole tank you'd get absolutely shitty range out of that tank.

Pretty much sums it up. Sure I'll hit ~50L/100kms when accelerating ... but I accelerate for what 100m then I'm at a steady speed. Thats why you'll get worse mileage, but instead of getting 8L/100km you'll get 9 or 10 L/100m

A built supra turbo will use a gallon per minute at WOT. That is fuel hungry.
