In Australia, my GTS86 service guide recommends every 15000kms. I did my first oil/filter change at 1800Kms (just after I had run it in and gotten the 1000kms checkup from Toyota) and I will do it again at 7500kms.
I'm just getting Toyota to do the logbook services (every 15000).

i changed it at 1000 after the recommended break in period used magnets on my oil filter too. when i pulled it off at toyota with the techs which my best friend is a tech at my local dealer so i got to do it with him

we pulled the filter and dumped it into a seperate container to find smll tiny micro flakes of metal got that crap out. put in 00W20 full synthetic SN API rated oil put a new toyota paclaged filter yet when we opened it it was a subaru filter
done deal. runs smoother better stronger. my MPG went up and throttle response went up a hair.

Just as an FYI if the dealership uses "Toyota" brand oil it is made by the Mobil company... Just have to find out if they actually use "Toyota oil" or if they get their bulk oil from someone else... The Toyota dealership I worked at got "Toyota" brand in bulk but other dealerships around us didn't.... Depends on the dealership (other brands do this too not just Toyota) And also just because they have Toyota oil in bottles doesn't mean they use it for the bulk oil they use on services...

Well its still possible that they used Mobil one... We had cases of Mobil one single qts to use too just in case people wanted us to use it instead of the "toyota" stuff like I said its really up to the dealership... Also the way it comes up on your invoice is pretty much determined by the service & parts managers they had the ability to label stuff however they want on the invoice.

Did mine before 1000 just to get all those small chips out, noticed much smoother after the 1k change. I will do another one before 2500 ish and then next one will be 5000. I am thinking spend a little more early on to help the engine go smoother in long run. Does not cost much.

Did mine at 1100 miles.
Enough shiny stuff in the oil to make me think it was worthwhile.

First oil change at 2200 miles.

From now on I'll be following the suggested intervals. So, I guess 7500..

Hmmmmm.....seems like those in the states have some discrepancy as to when the intervals are set. I was instrcuted by the dealer (and the sticker they put on the drivers side top windshield) that the first change should occur at 5,000mi, and for every subsequent 5k miles. I received mine from a Gulf States Toyota dealer. From my discussions with other Texans they all were told the same thing.

However it looks like some of you are being told to change at every 7500mi? I wonder if its a distribution thing or what?

Subaru book says 3750 for first and 7500 from there...have my appointment set for next Saturday so we'll see. I dig my dealer...they said..."We assume you'll be waiting with the car and want to see under when it's on the lift?"
