Sport Tech BRZ: $35,018.70 after taxes FR-S: $31,171.05 after taxes That's a difference of $1587 between the base BRZ and the FR-S, and $3847 between the Sport Tech BRZ and the FR-S. Assuming there isn't a markup on top of all that. |

For what it's worth, the guy at the Scion dealership I spoke to yesterday said that the current assembly-line ratio was seven BRZ's out of 100 cars. 93% of the vehicles rolling off the line are Toyota/Scion.

Its just production quantity. If Subaru made more BRZ, you'd see em sell out faster than the FRS.
Price has nothing to do with it. A few grand for better quality options, most people will pay the higher price.

I initially wanted the BRZ... Yet a few points helped me head for an FR-S:

Just to confirm the BRZ:FR-S approximate ratio is indeed 1:3:
Quote:
26.4% BRZ 73.6% FR-S The cost of the BRZ's extras over the FR-S are a good value but not a deal breaker against the FR-S. Lack of WRB from Scion was the deal breaker for me. I don't like the BRZ's touch screen which requires extra concentration to operate making it more dangerous on the road. And it's riddled with software bugs. I prefer tactile buttons on my radio but too stubborn to switch to an aftermarket unit.

the only thing that kept me from getting brz, which base does have alot nicer interior was the 2k base difference, and then the 1.5k over sticker. nicer interior did not equal $3,500. The other thing i forgot to mention was, it was hard to find one in person and when I found one... the guy was not going to let me even test drive it...

Not quite. FHI does NOT just make the BRZ and FR-S. They produce a lot of Subarus including the Legacy, Impreza, WRX STI, Forester, etc.
