well, I should have clarified before I posted.
I do apologize to Hanzo for making an assumption. However I still can not agree with him on the fact that our car is the easiest to heel toe.

The reason why I started this thread is that FRS is difficult to heel toe on basic street driving. When I am not hard breaking and then heel toe.

I know I know. I am not really supposed to use heel toe technique on the streets.
But what can I say? I'm used to heel toeing and I like to do it.
Also it saves brake pads lol

Anyways, I guess I will just hard breaking heel toe then ha!

Thanks for all the inputs guys!!

Hard braking heel/toe is the only real kind anyways! Anything else should be a quick downshift

I had a lot of trouble with heel-toe when I first got the car, one thing I found that helps is to move the right edge of your foot higher up on the gas pedal (if you have room to twist your foot around a bit). I have pretty narrow feet and using this trick I can heel-toe with any type of shoe except for my super narrow Pumas.

Heel toeing around the streets is like going to the shops in a racing helmet

I can do it great in my Doc Matins, but not in my driving shoes. (Skinny feet?)

Pedal height is perfect, and easy to blip. I have a set of pedals coming from srp racing that I'm sure will fix my problem. The gas pedal is about an inch wider.

I will post pics when I get them installed. Will likely be a week or so.

I just got back from my first spin around the country side, and while heel/toeing in hard corners was easy I guess I understand the difficulty while performing light braking. I don't understand why you would heel/toe though during light braking? Also, I think because it is fluid and easy during hard braking, the pedal height wouldn't be good for light braking.
(As a side note, I spelled brake break every single time I typed it in this post, and then had to go back and delete and retype it... Man I hate muscle memory.)

I've never driven a car that's easy to heel-toe in street driving but it is a good place to practice the technique, same with left foot braking. So don't sweat it.

I don't think it does anything to save the brakes vs normal driving.

For normal street driving try double-clutching, that will really improve the life of your synchros.

These are pics that Brian at SRP Racing sent me. This is his BRZ. I was wondering how much wider the gas pedal was going to be for the ones I ordered.
Mine will also be black, but I'm not doing the trim ring (the rim around brake, clutch and dead pedal) and the gas pedal will be smooth.

I'll post pics when I recieve them.

Can't wait!

Thanks for the link. I like everything about the pedal set except the price and the fact that I cannot buy the gas pedal separately. This is the type of gas pedal I have been looking for.

I did an autocross on Sunday and tried a heel-toe downshift from second to first on 4 out of 6 runs. On one run I totally missed the gas and spent an eternity on the clutch going around the corner as a result. A wider gas pedal would have made all the difference.

i have size 13 wide feet. my problem is that usually the leg motion needed to kick my heel out and over to the gas pedal is blocked by the steering wheel. im hoping the lower seating position of the fr-s will help with that.

Give Brian a call at SRP, I would be surprised if he couldn't do just a gas pedal for you.
Funny you mentioned you didn't like the price. I thought it was cheap for what you get. There at shift knobs for more than that. (I am not affiliated with srp in any way btw)
