Yep, that is why I got the 1500 4x4 vs the 2500. 2500 had solid front axle and handling and ride go out the window.

I don't know about where you live, but here cops and firefighters are WAY WAY overcompensated. They usually have the nicest house in the neighborhood. The police officers unions have been in cahoots with the politicians for years. A cop here can easily make $250k a year.

Trucks are invisible to police. How many times have you seen a truck pulled over vs a Civic? They sell a hell of a lot more trucks, and I'd say they're a small fraction of the vehicles I see pulled over. Especially white trucks that look like work trucks. I've driven five different cars past CHP blocking our canyon entrance, and they are always stern and asking for an ID. I pull up in the truck, and the CHP are all smiles. "Go ahead!" A big truck is working class white ID.
I thought we were talking about the really lifted ones. Stock or mild lifts are not too bad. It is when things start to get stupid high that they go sideways.

It is the day of the truck. The truck wars between Dodge and Ford have escalated to levels never seen before. Each is fighting for top place and that is reflected in low (relatively) prices and options in trucks that 20 years ago would have had people laughing their ass off. Eventually the economy will change and the bottom will drop out of the truck sales. I hope that doesn't happen for a while though.

The truck has not been the symbol of the working man for many years. The majority have become grocery getters that have never seen much more than a bag of avocados in the box. The higher they get raised the less likely they are ever used for work anyway.

Yeah I don’t think they make that much here. Even if they did I can’t see them owning a house that large on the water on a 250k salary. They are going between 800k-2m.

How well does the Dodge tow with independent suspension? Does it not camber out when under load?

The Fully loaded ones are more plush than a Cadillac these days.

The Fords and the Dodges have the most wonderful brake rotors though. As if they were made by angels.

My '05 4x4 has independent front, solid rear. Only problem is the programming in the auto tranny while towing over mountain passes. Suspension is fine.

A police officer can make more as a security officer in his off-time than he does while on duty if the district allows them to wear their uniform.

I have a relative that worked Miami Beach for his entire career. He easily made more working two nights at a club then he did during a month on the beat.

Mind you, he worked his ass off, but the money was definitely there.

I always thought the Miami cops made loads of money!

To be honest, I'd rather be dead than a cripple surrounded by lifted trucks

The air RAM gets a good amount of lift. You can fit 34s on it if you stick it into max lift. That gives a 3" lift over a stock 4x4 suspension. Usually when I pull up at stock ride height next to a typical full size, I'm at or above them, and when I put it in offroad 2 mode, I'm equal to a lot of the lifted trucks, and that's with 33s, the stock tires.

Trucks are still the symbol of the working man. They just go into debt to get the symbol. A well-but-not-fully-decked-out Ram 1500 goes for around 60k. The classic is cheaper, though.

Your neighborhood - 2 million for a waterfront palace.
https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...890846&view=qv

Our area - 3 million + for a landlocked palace in a nice community.
https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...-01366?view=qv

A waterfront home a third the size will go for over 2 million here.
