how do i bypass the factory amp?

How can i bypass the factory oem app so that my aftermarket headunit is powering my front door speakers? and do you think the headunit powering the speakers will be better then the factory amp?

FYI i am planing on getting a pioneer x4800bs

This would drop the ohm load below the acceptable level for head unit power and would certainly damage the unit. The front comps (dash) are 2ohm together

If you got a set of new speakers with a passive crossover this changes how powers distributed, but if you just bypass the oem amp you will certainly fry a head unit, possibly risk a fire

So basically i have already got some JBL 2 way component speakers for the front, a couple of 4 inch speakers for the rear and subwoofer, now i am still deciding on the headunit. I have a mono amp to power the sub woofer, and i have a 4ch amp laying around (can be used for the front speakers if needed). now please suggest me a way i should go about hooking all this up and getting the best out of it.

It's probably not a bad idea just to replace the factory amp with a compact amp. I fit an Alpine in the stock location and using that to power the front speakers now which I also replaced. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500KTP....html?tp=72998

I ran into the same dilemma. How to wire the six speakers and four channels. (not including the sub)


First of all I replaced all the speakers and CD player. I ran the CD player to the four small 4" speakers. I Unhooked my OEM amp. And installed a 4-channel amp with two channels run to the door speakers and the other two channels bridged to my 10" sub.


If I had your equipment: I would hook the CD player to the backseat speakers. And hook the front speakers to the 4-channel amp. The mono amp of course gets hooked to the sub.

@Leonardo, did you use the wiring of the oem amp, or did u rewire all the wires from the 4ch amp to the speakers?

I used oem speaker wiring for the four 4" run off the CD player . I also installed 2awg battery and ground cable, remote wire, rca cables, and new wire for the door speakers and sub.

Awesome, thats what i was planning on doing hahahaha
