As much as the hype has died down, it's still a sportscar, and not very common as Mustangs or Corvettes and so forth, so it will continuously get looked at and talked about.

Yea. That was one of the reasons one of my past girlfriends started to like me, because her little brother loved my car and I would take him for a ride.

Dropped my car off in the small town Toyota dealer to get my oil changed since I couldn't get into my normal dealer.
Walking through the bay with the shuttle driver when he looks over and sees it.
He stops dead in his tracks and says "Damn now there is a sweet car".
I said "yes it is I really enjoy it"
He looks at me in shock, wipes the drool off his mouth and says "That is really YOURS?"
On the 4 minute trip for him to drop me at work he must have said "Wow that car is so sweet" at least 20 times.

This is from a guy that has 3 brand new white ones sitting on his work lot that he never even noticed were there!

You guys that say nobody notices anymore just bought the wrong colours is all.

I'm surprised that I don't see more Hot Lavas in Austin (University of Texas Longhorns). I think its the most rare color around these parts. I used to travel to College Station (Texas A&M Aggies) and everywhere I look theres a maroon vehicle.

Well knowing the rough ages of many of the lava owners on here it is sort of odd to realize that most of us seem to be in the upper end of the spectrum. I guess we are just more of a "HEY LOOK AT ME" type of crowd.

Spotted a winter Texan staring at my car at a red light on the way home. I had my windows down and he asked me what symbol was on the fender. I replied not a swastika it's an italic 86. Not the first time I've seen people staring at that symbol.

Nope. These cars are getting cheaper so they're popping up like Civics now.

What? There are suddenly more of them somehow? There are used ones coming from someplace where there were never new ones? How does price make them "pop up"?

My car doesn't get anywhere near the attention that it did in the first year that I had it. Mind you, I don't wash it much, and it has never had a wax/detail, ever.

There are very few ways out of south Texas. From were we are there are basically 3. All them have a checkpoint of some sort. There are no unwatched backroads. Unless of course you fancy a stroll on foot across the King Ranch. That is a very difficult row to hoe.
