Yes, most likely.

It may prevent the tire/wheel from rubbing the front suspension. However, it will create a new problem -- you might start rubbing your fender due to the added poke.

Would also like to know if adding a 5mm spacer is the same as the wheel being 18x9.5e35.
Essentially, yes.

Overall, 9.5 is hard to pull off with stock suspension. I would stick to 9 or less.

To reinforce this, I'm running
17X9 +35 wheels, no spacer
245/45/17 tires
stock struts
-1.5° camber via camber/crash bolts
~1.3" drop springs

I haven't measured it but I can't even fit the tip of my finger between the spring perch and tire, I wouldn't want any less clearance than that. I haven't seen any indications of rubbing on the tire or any part of the fender/fender liner.

you *should* be able to fit 255/40/17 on 17x9 +35 in the rear.

On stock height I would imagine you would have plenty of room, 245/45 with 1.7" drop and -3 camber and I've never rubbed even with harsh compressions on stock stuts.

IIRC there plenty of clearance with +35 offset on the inside of the fender, the first place I could see an issue would be the leading edge of the fender, maybe see someone about getting them rolled if you want to go super wide, the right suspension settings could help with traction too.

BUMP this question. I've been googling/searching/clicking through this thread and can't find a picture. I have 18x9.5 +45 currently with 255/35R18 no rubbing. Considering Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 265/35R18 (which run narrow) on rear. 1.4" drop no camber correction. Trying to avoid shaving the bumper tab because I'm anal like that. But want to see what it looks like first to qualify really just how anal I should let myself be.

i'l try to take a photo of it today as i'm ripping my car apart back to stock. mine is completely shaved away.

+45 isn't the aggressive so thats saving you also.

i see a lot of people asking about rear fitment. On stock suspension theres plenty of room in the rear, its the FRONT thats the issue. you should easily be able to do a 255 on stock suspension rear and can get away with a 265 also. OFFSET is everything to do with this.

Pretty much sums it up. If you need to fine tune fitment, standard adjustable LCA's are only a couple hundred bucks.

this is ~1.7" drop 245/45

I am running 18x9.5" +45 Wedsport SA10R with 265/35R18 Bridgestone RE003 with around 25mm drop. No rubbing on guards or bumper tab.

Only rubbing I had was on front chassis rail at full lock so put steering stops in front to prevent that. Camber -2 at front for track but stock camber at back as haven't bothered to put any adjusting mechanism at rear.

Pics with 255 here http://www.prosportauto.co.nz/blog/p...SA10R-Fitment/

And here's with 265/35/18

Looks beautiful! Just be careful on big bumps. I had the same set-up pretty much and you'd hear the rubbing whenever the car hit a big bump or at high speed, haha.
