Finally got the 86 detailed and the cwest front lip installed today, love it! Also for reference this is the paint match on hot lava...pretty dead on if you ask me and I will be ordering the other parts of the kit from vivid racing.

Just got the cwest side skirts installed, took a bit to get them lined up so they fit flush in the door jam but once that 3m is applied it wont be going anywhere. No scraping between the lip and door for me!

Looks great! Is there any drilling into sheet metal necessary for the side skirts?

For the side skirts one screw in the door jam and one screw in the rear wheel well. The rest is held on by two brackets underneath the body that are clamped on, and one screw on each wheel well that line up with the fender liner screws. Oh and of course 3m tape all over the place haha...they are not going anywhere.

The front lip is held in by screws that line up with the fender liner and honestly I did not even use the 3m strips because that front lip fits so snug it is not going to go any where once you get it on.

A really top notch kit that comes painted factory matched out the door...I have not found a better kit at this price that matches this quality. The folks over at vivid racing have the best deal on this entire kit I have found and they have top notch customer service so I would recommend contacting them on the forum for the ft86club discount.

So, I started looking for something to replace it. I wanted something with more wrap-around coverage, and narrowed it down to the Greddy GRacer lip: http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/gred...l#.VpsCYE-S-YI or the C-West one. I didn't like the rounded side of the Greddy, plus I'd have to paint it, so I picked the C-West.

The C-West is molded out of white ABS plastic, and pre-painted. I'd say that the paint is a 90% match. It doesn't look as blue or purple under some lighting conditions as my DGM BRZ, but close enough.

I had some clear bra material on hand so I put some near the bottom edges for added protection. I also had some vinyl carbon-look wrap, so I put some in the middle section, as well as a strip on the sides. This was to add some removable scrape/rock protection. Installation went relatively easily, and fit was pretty good. Double sided tape is used as well as four screws which utilize existing holes in the bumper cover.

The STI lip is about 1.25" lower than the stock bumper. The bottom of the C-West lip is about 1.75" lower than the stock bumper. This, combined with my already lowered car means more scrapes to be expected. I just have to be even more careful than before. It doesn't help that the C-West lip is molded in white so scrapes will have to be covered up with touch-up paint.

I think that the understated STI lip is probably the most elegant add-on low profile lip there is for the BRZ, and I was afraid that the C-West lip would look too bulky. It actually isn't as big as it looks in some photos I've seen, and doesn't overpower the front of the car or look disproportionate without side skirts and a rear kit.

It also makes the bumper look less busy than with the STI lip and follows the lines of the car very well. It definitely looks more aggressive, and it's starting to grow on me.

Here's my car with the STI front lip:

Here is the C-West lip installed:

Updated 1/26/16 -Over this past weekend I plasti-dipped the center part of the lip in matte black to make it non-reflective, matching the moustache. In some light, it makes the center portion disappear, and only the two sides are visible, like 'fangs', giving it a more aggressive look. It's quite subtle, but I notice it.

Looks really good.
Does the C-West front lip spoiler come with the middle lower section already in carbon? Or you get that done somewhere else?

Does anyone have more pictures of the BRZ CWest front with no side skirts, or very low profile side skirts such as the HT Autos?

I see that, thus the request for "more pictures." That's a fantastic looking car, but it's black and the shadows make it hard to see how the lines flow.
