The best thing we've found with these brakes is that you can abuse them all day long (or in our case 12 hours straight) and not need to worry about heat.

I had a proper track day yesterday at Shannonville Motorsports Park with a low turn out so I got plenty of hot lapping with my braking setup so I thought I'd talk about my experience a bit.
My car has HKS Hipermax 4 GT coilovers, 245/40r17 original BFG Rivals and the RR Racing sport performance fronts with BP10s and OEM rears with EBC Yellowstuff. I installed my stainless steel rear brake lines and did a full re-bleed and that helped tighten the pedal up a lot. It's still very easy to modulate but the spongy feeling is gone. The track is medium on brakes and at no point did I experience any fade despite half hour hard lapping sessions. The ambient temperature was ~15c so being nice and cool may have played a part. Yay Canada! In fact, the brakes really preferred to be hot. I learned quickly to take it easy on the first half lap so the brakes can get some heat so they would give full bite. After that, they would tighten up and I got eye popping brake torque. Despite well over 2 hours of hard on track driving, the BP10 pads aren't showing too much wear. I had a very fast friend of mine that I trust drive my car for several laps and he loved the brakes. He said it was easily the best upgrade I made for this car. Not that the stock brakes aren't capable but these are just on a different level in terms of feel, bite and control. |

I upgraded a few weeks ago to the sport rear kit to compliment the Stg2 fronts that I got last year.
I installed some porterfield R4 brake pads (God these are noisy) and got to spend the day at PittRace today. The brakes did fantastic. I was a bit skeptical at first because the street pads didn't feel anything special with the new rears. They did great overall. The car saw 4 sessions with many laps back to back of uninterrupted runs. The car is pretty quick with the blower and E85 so they should be enough brake for most guys considering an upgrade. |

Picture of the stage 2 kit installed on my FR-S. Wheels are 17x8 +42 WedsSport TC105N.
Also did a test fit on 17x9 +42 Apex ARC-8 wheels. As mentioned by others, no problems fitting these brakes with either wheels. Good clearance all around. I've only done street driving so far, but the brakes feel great. Very stiff pedal within the first ~0.5-1" of travel. If anyone is experiencing a soft/mushy pedal with these, try bleeding the brakes again. That solved the issue for me. Cold bite on the street is fine. I'm on the BP-20 pads and they squeal less than my previous Carbotech XP10's. Track day coming up tomorrow - I think these are going to be very good.

@DarkSunrise I saw your car at the track and on track, but never saw you to talk to, haha. Looked quick out there!

Update from my last track day. The stage 2 kit and BP-20 pads worked great. Didn't have any issues with fade, although I got strong brake pad smell midway through each session. No noticeable impact on performance.
In terms of heat tolerance, these were a step up from my old stock brake/Carbotech XP10 setup. Gave me the confidence to brake 10-15 feet deeper than normal and trail-brake into corners (which would cause fade on my older setup), and I closed the gap on a lot of cars in my group this way. Some Cayman owners came over and asked how I was passing them lol. Mostly at corner entry. Once the brakes and tires (BFG Rivals) warmed up, there was plenty of stopping power and grip to play with. In terms of negatives, you have to be more careful with pedal modulation as the front tires locked up easier than before. Not a huge deal, but there is a clear point in pedal travel where more pressure locks up the fronts. After a lap or two of getting used to it, I adjusted and didn't think about it anymore. I also felt slight inconsistency in pedal feel every once in a while, but it not 100% sure. Probably just need another bleed. So far I'm happy with this BBK. Will probably stick with BP20 pads since they're cheap ($80) and effective. I may try to find a stronger rear pad though to shift some brake bias rearward.

Glad to hear about the improvement in braking. Mine struggled mightily all weekend (pretty sure I smeared XP12s on stock brakes and they were certainly on the edge of fading a few times as I had to mash a lot harder occasionally)
I was in blue group. I'm curious, what sort of lap times are you running around there? I have no real comparison as there were no 86s in my group and I wasn't passed once all weekend though I had a lot of fun gradually pulling ground on certain people.
