Hey dude quick question.
I just installed a front pipe on my car should i re-flash the tune after installing new performance parts?

No need to reflash, the ECU learns basic fueling correction and knock correction information (these are corrections to whats set in the maps), this is a continuous process, not a one off after a flash.

The ecu does not learn or adjust other parameters such as valve timing or ignition timing or fuelling this is set in maps in tune and is only adjusted by altering these tables directly in the tune and reflashing.

The header type determines the "tune" you need to run to a great extent on an NA car, the rest of the exhaust after the header has very little effect, so changing front pipe or catback does not require re-tune.

have a read of the Flashing-Reset-Learning link below

How many miles have you all run on E85 so far. Ive put a 1000miles in and wondering how the valve seat wear is going to be?

There are guys with tens of thousands of miles on e85, but I'll let them chime in.

I've got over 50k on e85 and haven't had any issues. Use to run a tank of 93 every so often but haven't done that in a while. Not showing any symptoms of valve seat wear... I'll be changing my plugs very soon though, anxious to see how they will look.

There are no issues with valve seats. I'll go into further detail below.

I had over 15,000 e85 miles when my engine spun the main bearings at 38,000 miles. Subaru screwed me over and I was on the hook for the full rebuild.

Moto-East did the work and commented how clean and unworn everything was. Unfortunately the one of the bearings stacked causing the crankshaft to get out of alignment and left the rods beating on the crankshaft. We were originally going to just clean the stock pistons and put them in with forged rods, but when they didn't fit, the engine ended up getting all forged internals. The valves were in perfect shape and the pistons were surprisingly clean which was attributed to the regular use of e85, despite running on 93 when the bearing let go.

Been thinking about fuelling up with some E85 here soon and it'll be the first time I've switched to E85. I've been looking through some of the threads and please correct me if I'm wrong but I should be looking out for the following;

AFR: not go any lower than 12 at WOT.
LTFT: around +/- 5%

Any other things I should be looking out for on the OFT while running E85?

Just have a read of the first post in this thread, depending on your e% of your fuel you may see ltft a bit higher than 5% , as long as your under 10 you should be good.

Take a look at your ltft before you switch to e85 and make sure their not high , just in case you have an exhaust leak or something. Check out your afr on petrol as well just to get an idea what to expect.

afr on e85 should be similar to what you see on petrol but about 0.5 leaner on e85.

Petrol afr is around 12 at wot. 14.5 idle
Stft: idle between -1 to +1. And then between -2 to +8 driving. 0 wot
Ltft stays mostly around -2

I find this happens every time I change the tune.

Typically starts out around .82-.85 and as I drive around, progressively using more throttle/RPM and putting a bigger load on the engine it pulls itself back up to 1.00..............usually in about 15-20 miles.

Just switched back to corn yesterday.

For the last 3 tanks I've been using the same e85 (70%min E85) station and my cruise ltft's are almost always at 0. Today I couldn't make it to my usual station and got just 3 gallons of 51% E, after a couple miles my ltft has locked on 3.12ltft. 30 miles later the same. I understand this is a higher ethanol content if this happens? Is it best for my tune that I use the E that gives me the 0 ltft, or should I get the higher one for better knock restitance, or maybe bump my timing up a half degree to take advantage of it?

Hey guys, I'm on my second tank of E85, and my LTFT just hold up to around +1.86% at idle, and around -7.XX% while i m cruising on highway

i only installed the HKS HI POWER SPEC-L catback exhaust
I'm using the stage 2 e85 EL tune.

Is that normal?

Does anyone read the actual useful content generous people like Steve spend days creating for you guys and link to posts explaining the exact answers with data to illustrate, or do you simply ignore all that and jump to the end of the thread to ask these stupid questions?
