One of the biggest reasons for rates is the probability of claims.(accidents)

Yeah the economic differences between the clientel of the two cars is MUCH different. Older and more financially well off and thus responsible drivers buy Acura TL's and broke people with bad credit and crappy driving history buy Mazda 2's (for the most part not saying everyone)

Thats why typically insurance on a Corvette is cheaper than insurance on a Camaro.

I think if I was going to swap motors for another Subie motor I would go for a larger displacement 2.5L turbo than the FA20t. The dimensions are pretty damn close to the FA20 so I think it would be a far easier swap. I don't know how much of the factory turbo setup can be retained and may just be a matter of routing charge pipes and inter cooler.. I know, off topic..just thinking it would be a better option if you want to keep it a current Subaru motor.

Sorry, not trying to turn this into another thread of a million motor swap options like the many others. After seeing some detailed pictures of the 2.5 block next to the 2.0 I was really surprised how close they are. Peaked my curiosity...

The FA20DIT is also the engine used on the Legacy GT.

Plus how much damage the car takes in a typical accident. I bet a lot more parts get replaced in the typical accident on the Mazda2 than the Acura.
