I just got my BRZ back from the dealer, the body shop went with my idea and placed a small amount of clear bra material between the seal and the trim. they also let me keep the old trim pieces in case it happens again out of warranty .. i would just need to refurbish them.

I can take a picture later today when I get home. of what it looks like with the clear bra material

Awesome, would love to see those photos. Very interested in getting the same thing done to mine. Although mine are already installed and I would need to get the clear bra added after. It may be more difficult with the seal in the way a bit.

a body shop did it, and i talked to them before hand. you need to have the seal/trim off to easily attach the material.

the body shop really worked with me on it, they wanted to respect the car.. they did this plus add rust protection to bits inside the doors, at no extra charge to me or the dealership

What if you have that triangle window tinted? Would that mean you would have to get it re-tinted or this piece is separate of the window.
