Just came across another minor issue.

So I posted the other day about my windows squeaking so today while trying to fix this I discovered some rust building up on that little metal pillar on the door between the main window and that small triangle glass peice on the drivers door, right where it meats the actual door. So upon inspection the passenger door has this also... Has anyone else noticed the rust? I'll post pictures later today.

Those are the pictures of where the rust is located. It's in the same spot on both the driver and passenger side Windows.

That's odd! My car is making noise as well. I have an appointment with a service tech Saturday to check it out. But I will check my car after work and report if mine has rust as we'll.

Please let me know maybe mine isn't the only one. It struck me as being weird that both doors have it on the same spot.

Checked and I don't have any rust in those areas. How long have you had your car? I've only had my car since December and I'm in SoCal where it rarely rains or gets wet. I'd set up a service appointment or just stop in at your dealership.

Well, no ..... not on my FR-S.

I'd suggest you clean it up then paint it with a bit of rust preventing type of paint.

Only YOU will notice it ....... and after a few days, even YOU won't notice it ....

Well the thing isn't just noticing it lol I don't want it to rust out lol. Maybe because of the snow and salt we've been getting here in new York lol either way I have to check the windows out so I might as well have them look at that also.

Like I stated in your last thread take it back to where you got your windows tinted for the noises it's making. For the rust take it to a dealer, it's most likely the salt and wet weather, if it's the same place kill two birds with one stone. Good luck! If you go in before Saturday let me know what they say about the noise since that's when I have my appointment.

Just checked, and I have the same thing. Not quite as bad, but definitely a faint rust line. I was able to to get most of it off by just running my fingernail over it, and wiping it down with a microfibre cloth.

I'll mention it to my dealer at the next appointment, although I doubt they'll do anything at this stage.

The tint is not the issue I've had the tint on since April and the sound hasn't started since maybe three weeks ago. The faint rust I just noticed it today. I most likely won't be taking it in any time soon. The weather is supposed to get nice around here this weekend so I plan to give it a really good wash and see if that helps any then I'll probably take it in.

By seal do you mean the two long rectangles that show up after opening and then closing your window? I noticed mine has a scratch on the passenger side door where the rectangle thing is. Need to get my oil changed at 7,500 so might as well get these checked out also.

I noticed this issue as well on my car. We had a lot of salt here during this rough winter and I guess the rust line is due to the contact point between the rubber lining and the metal pillar.

Has anyone taken their car to the dealer to see if they would fix this rust spot? Also, any ideas for preventing this in the future?
