A lot of it is running the correct rear wheel and having the suspension setup for drag racing. For drag racing, a lot of us know, you need a rear wheel with a MEATY sidewall. If you are running low profiles that can explain what is going on with the time-slips. Even though you are clocking low ETA's but where are the MPH? To me that just points at the low profiles finally hitting the revolutions needed to clock a fast time. Again, these cars don't have massive Torque curves which don't help with the low profile wheels.

The only time I see cars with low profiles clocking fast slips are with AWD. For instance the Subie Imprezas and Porsche 911 Turbos, but that last car is an exception especially with SportChrono and Launch Control which will give you more Torque for a short period of time. But then again, for instance, my 911 runs 500 BHP and over 500 LB-FT of torque with all the gizmos turned on. Heck some drag strips have banned some modified 997.2 TT with modifications because they are doing SUB 10 Second quarter miles without Roll Cages, which if you think about it they are kind of right. The last iteration 911 Turbo S with everything turned on could hit Zero to 60 in 2.6 seconds. A lot of that has to do with the PDK Transmissions which are Duel-Clutch. You just need to keep the momentum moving forward and with two clutches with 1-3-5-7 on one clutch and 2-4-6-R on the other; while the tranny is disengaging from first, second gear is already spun-up and engaging the output shaft. Not loosing momentum and moving forward without that two or three tenths of a second with no drive going to the wheels. That is how the 911 and the GTR can clock those times.

We talk about putting the Supra tranny in the these cars, we need to find a way to put a duel transmission and really see what this little bugger can really do. But then again you can't put 1000 BHP Through Porsche's PDK or Nissan's Version.

But what amazes me the most is how some of our super cars throughout the years could clock some of the times that they did. For instance the 959 can do a 3.0-3.3 Zero to 60 MPH in the 80s. Guess that what happens when you develop a car for Gruppe B Rally Racing and then prepping a few of them for homologation; then the FIA cancels the entire series group? Thank you trickle down technology.

Would like to point out that I would take a 959 over it's main rival and poster queen F40. The 959 is a better driver's car and you don't have to take it in for service once a year. Don't get me wrong I love Ferraris I just can't ever imagine owning one. I don't agree with some of their Ideals. Was it Enzo who said if there is a market for 300 cars he would build 299 just to make them more exclusive? And don't get me started on the new "La Ferrari". Their first mistake they made with that car was not having PININFARINA doing the design job. It looks too much like a space ship however I think they are going to run some "Active Aerodynamics".

Not sure if I agree with your statement about the 959 being a better drivers car than the F40 but most of the rest I do. If you want to make dragstrip passes get actual drag tires

I did not have an actual dyno yet, on virtual I'm making around 255. I only had 1 other run and I did 14.4 that time

I had similar results the one night I took mine out. I got a couple low 13s and my two or three bad launch runs were like mid 14s, haha.

Interesting stuff. It's nice to see a lows 13s on a S/C that isn't running crazy boost.

We need some leaf springs for more traction!
