I just went back out and look. this time I looked at the passenger side and it is there. so, to confirm, it is on the passenger side on my 10 series FRS.

The original poster has a Right Hand Drive version so it's under the steering column.
The ones sold as LHD (not Brittish Victorian Empire / Japan), the tube stays in the right hand footwell.

Thanks OP for this wonderful tip. I went to McLendon closes by my house to pick up the plug and it cost me $0.50 + tax. It took 30 seconds to do this mod.

That is actually a good way of describing the induction sound.

With the plug the biggest change is the engine noise becomes "real".

Did this mod this evening, best thing ever! Simple, and it makes the inside of the car sound "normal". The mrs. tends to get headaches and carsickness, she noted the ride is much more bearable. Hell, even I think the ride is more bearable.

A full removal of the sound tube and resonator assembly is in my car's future!
