BRZ Airbag cover.

Hey I bought myself a BRZ and don't want to spend $1000 on a drivers wheel airbag because after it goes through inspections I will be putting on a the NRG race series steering wheel and steering wheel doesn't have an airbag. So I just want to get a cover and then just pass CHP.
I need a place to buy a cover or if someone is selling one I will buy one for $40 OBO.

What happened to the airbag that came with the car? Is it even legal to sell or purchase a car without an airbag?

Anyway, if you are running without an airbag, isn't the SRS light illuminated on the dash? Or have you run an inline resistor to trick the ECU? Unless you do that, CHP will notice you don't have an airbag, even if you put a cover on the wheel.

That said, looking at the online Subaru OEM parts websites, it appears that the OEM cover is integrated with the airbag module so it can't be purchased separately. Maybe someone has hacked up their old module to remove the cover, but from the way the covers are meant to explode in case of airbag detonation, I would imagine it's not going to be easy to find a cover alone.
