The just checking in everything is good thread

Hey guys. So I am sick of reading about all the issues everyone has and I feel it gives a bad name to the car. People will come on here and be all like "whoaa look at all these problems people have" and I know that people having issues are only a very very small percentage so I want everyone else who is enjoying their car to take a moment and let us know how it is treating you.

I will go first:
My car is at 48xxx Km's and I have had it for about 3 years or so (bought it new). I love it and haven't really had any major issues at all even though I have gotten big into the aftermarket scene. I think my choice to buy only quality parts has help prevent any major issues. I will continue to enjoy this amazing car for years to come.

I've got this many miles on my BRZ as of last week...

...and the only minor mechanical issue I had since I bought that car was right at 500 miles when one of the metal band clamps on the exhaust heat shield came loose and started rattling. Scooted under the car, tightened it up, and everything has been fine since.

Yes, major issues. Had the fuel pump replaced 3 times because of chirping issues. It is coming back and I am thinking about trading the car in.

Just kidding. No issues. 2015 model, 14k miles.

What's major?

I've had chirping, condensation in the taillights, squeaky windows, loose dead pedal, creaking clutch, failed coilpacks, stripped studs and random CEL's. 44k miles and I've never taken my car back to the dealership.

84000 miles. 2013 picked up 5/31/12

1. Tailight condensation (fixed by dealer)
2. Disappearing coolant (I just top it off) Leak down, compression tests good
3. multiple wheel studs stripped. (caused by me undoing them while hot I think and the tire shop using an impact)
4. idle dip (gonna get oft to fix as its not consistant to replicate)
5. steering wheel peelinng

Biggest pain in the ass is the damn headunit. My bluetooth doesnt always work. Gonna start driving it over to the dealer so I can get it cared for before my extended warantee runs out.

20K & change. No major issues.

Both windows poorly aligned from the factory - fixed them
Handbrake way too loose - adjusted
Creaky clutch fork - I'll get around to it
Crickets - feature

edit: Oh yeah, steering wheel peeling.

2015 GT86, 16K KM'S
Replaced radiator 10,000 Kms by dealer due to disappearing coolant, slow seepage from the crimps.
Replaced rear view mirror 15,000Kms by dealer due to poor appearance (original JDM mirror sides starting to blacken for no reason)

Garage
Coming up on 3 years and 45000km, no problems with my bone stock 2013 GT86 High.
Driven it through 10 European countries, top speed on German Autobahn is 240km/h. Car feels solid as a rock at high speed, no overheating or anything.
The hood was vibrating a little at 200+ km/h, I adjusted the rubber stops and that fixed it.
Never heard any crickets, everything is fine.
Dealership has been good to me.
I love my car

I have 2014 model manufactured in August 2013 that I bought new on January 7, 2014. Currently at 51,xxx km (~32,xxx miles). This car is my everything: daily driver, autocrosser, grocery getter, and road tripper. Did a 4000 km (2500 mile) road trip this summer without any mechanical issues.

Issues so far:
- AC condenser replaced under warranty (the part didn't fail; the pulley bracket was damaged somehow. I'm guessing a rodent got under there and chewed on it since my car is parked outside)
- two windshields replaced with insurance deductible due to rock chip/cracking
- shifter rattle at high RPM (plan to replace with TRD Japan short shifter in the future)
- rear deck rattle (haven't attempted any fixes yet)

These are small nuisances to me though. I love this car and have no intention of ever selling it. I want to be one of those guys who bought a car new when they were young and still own it in their senior years...Is 27 still considered young?

50K Miles since 09/02/14 Year round DD
Haven't heard crickets since this spring. No idea where they went.
Window squeal when wet. Fixed by TSB no more squeal.
No issues shifting to any gear at any temperature.
No rattles, creaks or groans (from the car).
Paint chipped in a light breeze for first 6 months but now seems impervious to damage with zero new chips in months.
No oil leaks.
No coolant loss (beyond normal).
HU works perfectly every single time.
Idle dip when AC is on. I consider normal and will not have it "fixed".
Steering wheel is pristine. Very shiny in a few contact spots.
All dealer service have been a pleasure with no issues at all.
Overall satisfaction remains 10/10
