Review || Blitz Hybrid A/C cabin filter
Like most of you (should be doing), I've changed my cabin filter out a few times already. Ideally you should swap it out once every year so...
I thought about finding a better solution that is more sustainable, turns out Blitz offers a Hybrid AC filter that is reusable and has similar odor filter elements like a factory filter. The factory filter has activated carbon embedded in the filter media, so that it absorbs odors. The only drawback is that it is not reusable. The Blitz filter has a photocatalyst element on it (apparently made of Titanium Dioxide) that is meant to be reused often. The filter part is pretty straightforward, and to reuse this filter you just have to remove it once a season, wash it, and leave it out in the sun to recharge the photocatalyst. If I can get 2 or more replacement cycles out of this, it will already be better than the factory filter. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Stock vs the Blitz filter: ![]() Of interest: the Blitz filter is marked with direction of airflow, however the stock filter is marked with one side as "up"... this is important because the factory A/C unit pulls air from the top down, so the Blitz filter needs to be installed with the catalyst element facing downward. ![]() Found it here: http://www.blitzna.com/interior/ac-c...ter-ha303.html -alex |
